Despite an abundance of children’s literature in STEM fields, very few books exist about broad public health topics. Building a Brighter World (BBW) addresses this gap by presenting social determinants of health, e.g. housing, education, and food access, alongside worldviews for advancing health equity. Using short, simple sentences, paired with illustrated images, the goal of this project was to create a tool that makes public health concepts accessible for a six to eight year old audience.

I co-illustrated and wrote this children's book as a contract with St. Catherine Universities Public Health Department.
